Addicted to 3 Minutes of Something

Posted by jill on May 17, 2006

Every so often a song comes along that strikes me where it hurts, some corner of my brain that just adores soaring strings and lush arrangements. Last year it was The Dream of Win and Regine by Final Fantasy, and this year it’s Lloyd, I’m Ready to be Heartbroken, by Camera Obscura. In the past week, this song has had so many plays on my computer, it’s frankly ridicuous. It’s really not bad for a band that only seemed to want to sound like Belle and Sebastian a couple of years ago. If you haven’t heard it yet, listen to it on their you know what profile.

Back from the Punt

Posted by jill on May 11, 2006

If you’re here looking for photos from The Oxford Punt, I’m afraid they won’t be up until the weekend. I’m so glad I went along this year, I was so close to giving it a miss because I knew i) I couldn’t drink as much as I normally did on the Punt ii) I couldn’t stay out till the end. However I made it to 1am, and looking back at my photos I managed to see 12 bands. The highlight was The Keyboard Choir, who sounded amazing and huge. Witches came a very close second. Anyway, check back at the weekend to see all the photos!
